KIT Visits LifeCare Center

On Sabbath afternoon, November 18, Kids in Tune visited senior citizens at LifeCare Center in Old Hickory, TN. The kids choir from Madison Campus SDA Church performed a variety of songs, including those of Thanksgiving and Christmas and shared poems and scripture.

For the previous two weeks, the church’s Sabbath school divisions made over 100 delightful, colorful cards to share with the LifeCare Center residents. These handmade cards, loving expressions from the hearts of our children, gave our young Kids In Tune choir members the opportunity to bring joy to their seniors – and also allowed them to share the love of Jesus. The children shared them after their musical performance along with hugs, smiles, and ice cream. Our Teens in Tune also visited the rooms of those who could not join the choir for the performance. The experience was a wonderful success for which we praise our Lord.

Visiting the nursing home has become a yearly tradition for Kids in Tune and such activities embody its mission to instill in children a passion for Jesus, music, and service. The residents loved watching and listening to the children sing and look forward to their visit each year. They cherished their cards and the chance to visit with our little ones. We pray that God continues to provide us with the opportunity to serve Him this way. It’s a blessing to the residents at Lifecare Center, and a greater blessing to our children. It is through these kinds of experiences that our children learn to bring to life the two great commandments – to love Jesus and to love neighbors.
